A CO-AUTHORED STUDENT PUBLICATION • HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY HIGH SCHOOLS
Financial Literacy, Written With Students, For Students
The FCEE Chronicle is a new 16-page, full-color financial literacy publication created in collaboration with Hillsborough County high school students, the Florida Council on Economic Education and the Tampa Bay Times Newspaper in Education program.
Rather than simply reading about personal finance, students are helping create the conversation.
For each issue, students have the opportunity to write articles, interview local business owners and professionals, submit original cover art, ask financial experts their own questions and help shape the content their peers will read.
ISSUE 1: EARNING INCOME
Our first issue explores Earning Income, bringing financial concepts to life through topics that matter to high school students today.
From understanding a first paycheck and exploring side hustles to learning about career paths and the cost of education and training, the issue connects classroom concepts with real-world financial decisions.
Nearly 40,000 copies will be distributed to high school students across Hillsborough County, giving students the opportunity to learn about money from a publication created with voices and perspectives from their own generation.
