The Florida Student Business Plan Competition
March - May 1st, 2008 Following our highly successful Student Enterprise Bank, which awarded over $300,000 to students in the form of real microloans, The SEI program seeks to go one step further. Beginning March 2008, the Florida Council on Economic Education and Youngbiz have partnered to offer the state’s premier business plan competition and entrepreneurship program. Stay tuned for more information on how YOU can become Florida’s next young entrepreneur. General Instructions1. Complete Executive Summary - Any great business plan involves certain key components, including a sound business objective, clear competitive analysis and marketing strategy. Download and complete the Executive Summary Sheet to get you started. 2. Develop 5-20 Page Business Plan - Once you have created your executive summary, it is time to develop a real business plan. To the best of your ability, each section of your plan should cover all elements of the executive summary in greater detail. On average, each section should be about 1-2 pages in length. Specific InstructionsBusiness Plans may be submitted individually or in teams up to four people Business Plans can be no shorter than 5 pages (not including coverpage) and no longer than 20 pages. The Student Enterprise Initiative includes a complete out-of-the box teaching and learning experience in entrepreneurship. The SEI curriculum includes hands-on activities, simulations and graphic organizers to help teachers build students’ skills in business management and free enterprise. At this time we are only offering this program directly to school districts. However, we hope to offer SEI FREE of charge to individual teachers in the very near future.

Complete Curriculum, Workbooks and Guides to start an Entrepreneurship Program at your School
Grade Levels 6-12 (and young adults)
NFTE’s programs teach entrepreneurship using its exciting, experiential curriculum. There are versions for middle school, high school, and young adult students, with corresponding reading levels and complexity.
The curriculum may be used in a semester-long or year-long entrepreneurship course, integrated into an existing course, or used for an after-school program or intensive camp.
