Celebrating 26 Years of Free Enterprise Leaders
The Florida Council on Economic Education began the Free Enterpriser of the Year award in 1982 to annually recognize a Floridian who best exemplifies the free enterprise spirit, not only in the business world, but also in the community. It is hoped that through the recognition of these outstanding individuals, the mission of the Florida Council will be enhanced and the free enterprise system will be exhibited in its highest form for all of Florida’s citizens to emulate and perpetuate.Past Recipients
Eligibility & CriteriaThe nominee should live and work in the state of Florida and be willing to receive the award from the Governor during a Cabinet meeting. A selection committee consisting of previous award winners will meet to review the nominations and determine which of the nominees demonstrates the free enterprise spirit in all of its dimensions. Criteria centers on the nominee’s accomplishments in the business world, contributions through civic and service organizations, and his/her reputation for solid business ethics and high moral principles. Nomination ProcedureTo nominate an individual for induction, please return the attached form to the Florida Council on Economic Education no later than August 31st, 2008. Please include a letter of nomination, 3-5 letters of support, and the nominee’s current professional resume or vitae. The letters and resume/vitae should include the nominee’s:
