This year’s Economic Educator of the Year, has been a leader in teaching economics for over 15 years. Her enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring is evidenced in many ways. She has sponsored teams for the Florida Stock Market game since 1996, has served as a curriculum writer for Duval County and the Florida Virtual School’s online economics class, used the latest technology to create and host an online   Career Day, created and hosted the Global Economic Summit and is regularly called upon by fellow teachers for help in reaching students.

She is an expert in finding ways to integrate technology with education which has led her to her current position as online instructor for the Florida Virtual School, where she is one of the founders and organizers of the Florida Virtual School College Hub.

A true leader in teaching economics, a teacher who is unafraid to take risks and initiative on behalf of her students, and an instructor who is leading the way in pushing education into the 21^st century, the 2008 Economic Educator of the Year….Miss Patricia Sibson.
