 For more than 30 years, the Florida Council on Economic Education has been preparing Florida’s young people to make sound, personal financial decisions and to assume productive roles in our free enterprise system. The Council has trained thousands of Florida teachers to teach students from Kindergarten through 12th grade to be financially savvy and to understand the underlying economic principles of personal financial management.The Florida Economic Educator of the Year award was created to recognize an educator, in grades K -12, who is judged to be the most outstanding teacher of financial literacy, free enterprise and economic education in the state.
2007 Recipient - Joel Williams
Joel Williams, from Jacksonville Florida, has effectively used the Stock Market Challenge in an innovative way and has been very successful in fostering students’ learning and understanding of the underlying concepts.
