First Coast Business Hall Of Fame

The Florida Council on Economic Education will host the 14th Annual First Coast Business Hall of Fame on Thursday, November 8, 2012, beginning at 11:00, at Florida Blue’s Conference Center.  On this special day, a new group of outstanding business and community leaders will be inducted as the Class of 2012.  This year’s Honorees will be recognized as ‘Torch Bearers’–because they are champions of leadership.  The FCEE looks forward to a successful event that will support further economic and financial literacy education for elementary, middle and high school students in the First Coast.

Members of the Hall of Fame serve as inspirations to young people who will follow in their footsteps. Proceeds from the Hall of Fame support the economic and free enterprise education programs and financial literacy initiatives of the Florida Council in the First Coast Area. Established by Governor Askew in 1975, The Florida Council promotes economic education, financial literacy, investing, and entrepreneurship throughout the state’s K-12 system. By investing in the education of children, the First Coast business community has a tremendous influence in developing the leaders and citizens of tomorrow.

Proceeds from the Hall of Fame support the economic and free enterprise education programs and financial literacy initiatives of the FCEE and the Center on Economic and Financial Education at Florida State College at Jacksonville.  We are pleased to announce that with proceeds from last year’s Hall of Fame, the Center was opened last Fall and has already trained nearly 100 teachers to prepare over 15,000 students for success.

The Class of 2012 will light the way for economic recovery for Florida’s First Coast.  This celebration is the must attend business event of the year!  Induction into the First Cost Business Hall of Fame is a prestigious honor; attendees join hundreds of influential business professionals, educators and government officials in celebrating this occasion.
