First Coast Business Hall of Fame
The Florida Council on Economic Education is delighted to host the 18th Annual First Coast Business Hall of Fame on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. On this special day, a new group of outstanding business and community leaders – David Brown, Ricardo “Dick” Morales, Jr., John Peyton and Darnell Smith – will be inducted as the Class of 2016 in what has become the Must Attend business event of the year. The theme of this year’s ceremony is “Anchors of Our Community” and will celebrate the Class of 2016 and all Hall of Fame members whose business achievements and community leadership provide strength and support for the First Coast region as we continue to build a brighter economic future. On this special day, a new group of inductees will join the 72 other luminaries who since 1999 have been inducted into the First Coast Business Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame Ceremony does more than just honor First Coast leaders for their significant business accomplishments and civic contributions. It enables the Florida Council to provide critical economic and financial literacy education to K-12 students throughout the First Coast and Florida, those who will take their place as the next generation of informed and responsible citizens and leaders. The Class of 2016 will serve as shining examples of business leadership, free enterprise and community service for the First Coast youth who will follow in their footsteps. Proceeds from the Hall of Fame support the economic and free enterprise education programs and financial literacy initiatives of the FCEE and the Center on Economic & Financial Education at Florida State College at Jacksonville.
